Creating an MVP version is a good option for companies to release new features quickly and within budget, or test novel business hypotheses as fast as possible.
When we are approached with the task to create an MVP, we always start by carrying out a thorough research to see what goals or hypotheses our client has. We interview our client, study their business processes and user portraits. Then, we propose a product vision—a small prototype or set of core features that we think will be necessary for the given project. The main task here is to correctly determine the basic underlying functionality that would convey the value of the whole product.
In the case of Shape, our client wanted to test the capabilities of AR for an m-commerce app, and the core feature here was the virtual try-on function that we had to develop.
